Laurentian Library, The (1)

A paperback series that first appeared in Canada in the fall of 1967.  The series offers reprints of popular Macmillan books previously available only in hardcover.  In some cases, hardcover editions are no longer in print.  The object of the operation is to place good literature at the disposal of a completely different market than that reached by the original editions.

New Canadian Library (1)
The New Canadian Library is a publishing imprint of the Canadian company McClelland and Stewart.  The series aims to present classic works of Canadian literature in paperback.  Each work published in the series includes a short essay by another notable Canadian writer, discussing the historical context and significance of the work.
